Period Styles: Georgian and Regency
The Georgian era extended from 1714-1830 with the Regency period from 1811-1820. Georgian and Regency domestic stained glass was usually in clear glass in a repeat or symmetrical pattern. The clear glass was handmade at the time and had a lively quality that 'wobbles' as your eye travels around! Image ge07b is an example of modern handmade glass giving a similar effect. Their simple elegance is alluring and hence the collection of photos below includes many not made by Apollo Stained Glass but snapped over the years in different places. Although some are made in cast iron the designs can often be adapted for leadwork.
